Why Zawadi Africa Festival?

The digital age is here. The global economic landscape, and particularly that of Africa, is being reshaped in part, by digital transformation.

The need to constantly highlight and amplify Innovative Business Ventures and Projects run by the Private and Non-Profit Sector, as well as Government Departments and Agencies, cannot be overemphasized.

Zawadi Africa Festival is the platform where collaboration and partnerships for Financing and Technical Support for Small-Medium Scale Project Ventures, and Progressive Models for Funding Non-profit Sector Programs is explored.

In a relaxed atmosphere, Zawadi Africa Festival fosters deep value-adding interactions among industry players from the Non-Profit, Public, and Private sectors.

Zawadi Africa Festival is modelled as a Continental Business Tourism Platform to be held annually.

Objectives of Zawadi Africa Festival

  1. BUSINESS: Be a safe platform where small scale Innovative Projects can be presented for Potential Partnership Exploration and Capital Resourcing.
  2. CHARITY: Facilitate the amplification of Non-Profit Sector Programs that are Potential Candidates for Social Financing and Impact Investments.
  3. GOVERNMENT: An avenue where Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies can Sensitize and inform the Public (Citizens) on various Developmental Activities and
    Progress.
  4. AFRICA: Deepen the understanding of Women-led Ventures on the Potential Opportunities arising from the implementation of African Continental Free Area.

NOTE:

  • This year (2025), we are launching Zawadi Africa Fund (ZAF) for Supplemental Intervention within Education and the Non-profit Sectors.
  • Kenyatta University (Office of the Director of Students Affairs) will both Host the Festival and is the Custodian of Zawadi Africa Fund.
